Since 1979, Amerec has been a very successful leader in the steam bath industry, dedicating years of experience to provide innovative, high quality products and services. Although Amerec is best known for steam specialization, they were actually first established in 1963 to manufacture sauna products. Amerec has built and maintained a valuable reputation as a steam manufacturer, yet still continues to manufacture and develop sauna products. In 1998, Amerec was acquired by Saunatec Inc., which became the world’s largest sauna and steam manufacturer in 2008 with Helo, Finnleo, Amerec, McCoy, and Polar. Saunas are undeniably as relevant today as they were when first used in Finland.

The most essential component and the so-called “heart and soul” of a sauna is the sauna heater. Amerec supplies 8 impressive series of sauna heaters that are durably constructed of rust resistant materials including a stainless steel body with standard stainless steel heating elements. Each series of heaters ensures soft heat with pleasant steam. Amerec proudly presents the Designer T, Digital, Designer S, Designer B, Junior, Pro, Octa, and Saunatonttu series. Each series operates using one of Amerec’s easy-to-use sauna heater controls that include the T1 Touch Screen control, DC60 Digital control, SC Series controls, Digi VII controls, or the SaunaLogic control.
Sauna heaters recommended for the home typically need somewhere between a 4.5kW to 8kW power rating for sauna rooms that measure 100 to 420 cubic feet. All of Amerec’s Designer T, Digital, Designer S, and Designer B Series sauna heaters fit this requirement. These residential sauna heaters are wall-mounted and feature an exceptionally large rock capacity for direct contact with the heating elements.
The Designer T sauna heaters are Amerec’s newest series that require the innovative T1 Touch Screen operating control. The Digital Series sauna heaters utilize the DC60 Digital control and the Designer S Series sauna heaters operate with any of the SC Series controls. The only residential sauna heater that does not require a separate control is the Designer B Series, which uses built in operating controls.
If you own a personal sized sauna bath, Amerec’s Junior Series consists of two ideal sauna heater models, the Junior 2.2D and Junior 3.0D, for rooms 45 to 150 cubic feet. The Junior Series sauna heaters use the SaunaLogic control to operate.
The Saunatonttu sauna heaters are inspired by a unique European design with outstanding features and benefits. There are two models, the Saunatonttu 4 and the Saunatonttu 6 that can efficiently heat rooms 175 to 425 cubic feet. This heater will enhance the looks of any sauna and reduce safety clearances giving flexibility for your sauna design. The Saunatonttu is super insulated to keep rocks “always hot, always ready” and is controlled utilizing a diminutive, hand-held control panel that is attached.
For commercial use, Amerec offers the Pro Series and Octa Series sauna heaters for sauna rooms that measure 390 to 950 cubic feet. Both of these commercial sauna heaters are floor standing models and have a rock capacity of 132 pounds. The Octa sauna heater models are finished on all sides to be placed virtually anywhere in the sauna, including the center of the sauna, in a corner, or in the middle of a wall. The Pro Series and the Octa Series sauna heaters must utilize either an SC Series or Digi VII Series control to operate.
