Is there anyway of having both steam and sauna in one room?  If so, what would be the ideal material to use on the walls, benches and so forth?

In one room, yes, but in separate environments if you intend to use them both in one session.

The differences in humidity level, venting, and equipment location for these types of luxury bathing environments call for different design elements which are key in creating a healthy, relaxing atmosphere.

There are many possible ways to incorporate both of these amenities into one room, the specialists at http://www.steamsaunabath.com/catalog/project_coordinator.php help you with a design that fits your preferences.
