Title: Day Spa Shower Configuration
Post by: Purpl3Helena on June 28, 2011, 04:21:38 PM
I'm designing a Day Spa and will have 4 steam room, 2 women, 2 men and each has to have a handicapped shower.

Are there any specifics I should do to make sure the rooms are optimal?  Size, shape, wall materials, etc.

When designing a steam room, use your imagination and it can likely be done.
You want comfort and style at a reasonable price.
Ceiling Height is an important consideration.  Typically not over 8 feet.

Ceramic or Porcelain tile is timeless and the most common.  Many ceramic tiles are made these days to look like natural stone and other types of stone materials.  Most any material can be used but ceramic is the simplest.

Good Luck.  We're here to serve your needs.

You mentioned the steam room are going to be handicap accessable. Keep in mind you will need adequate door openings to accommodate the wheel chairs. ADA requirements call for a 32" pass thru with no threshold.
we do offer a special door that is approved for this purpose.
