What is the difference between using a shower door and a steam door?  I have been doing research and the contractors i have spoke with say there is no difference except cost.  Is that true?  What makes a steam door?

What is the potential issue for not using a steam door?  Will this effect the steam process in anyway?

Yes, it does matter.

A steam shower door has better gasketing and sealing properties to ensure that the steam stays in your steam shower environment where it belongs.  You certainly don't want the moisture escaping into your bathroom.  Additionally, a standard door allows for heat loss and uneven temperatures within the steam environment.

Finally, check out these steam shower doors... they are very reasonably priced and come in many styles.
