When installing the steam line, how many elbows can be used and do we pitch the steam line to the shower or the generator?

Ideally as few elbows as possible.
Running the steam line down and then up will create a steam trap blocking the flow of steam.
Pitching the steam line 1/4" per foot towards the steam head or steam generator (which ever is the easiest to do)to avoid valleys and trapping of condensation.  Pitching towards the steam head will cause the condensate to come out the steam head where as pitching back to the generator, you wouldn't see much of the condensate.
