Title: MS Chroma light output
Post by: Earl on January 20, 2011, 05:50:58 PM
How much light does the Chroma put out? I'm looking at installing this in a 3x5 shower. Need to know how many to order.

The MS Chroma light outputs the equivalent of 14.4 Watts.
How many lights to use depends on the effect you are looking for.
For all lighting, we generally suggest 1 light per every 4 square feet.
In your size shower, 1 light will be fine.  You can have 2 if you want more effect.
Note that Chroma lights do not project entirely from ceiling to floor.

Does this light also provide a white basic light?  Or are they just the Chroma Colors?
Wouldn't even in a smaller steam room we want a white light for shavng and such?

Good Question MyMyBOOty
Yes, the Chroma light is only Chroma colors, no white light.

The more light in a steam shower the better so yes, we would recommend a white light in addition to a chroma light.

In addition to the MSChroma light, Mr Steam offers and MSLight MS Light (http://www.steamsaunabath.com/catalog/shower-light-mr-steam-p-300296.html?cPath=64_80)

The MSChroma light can be controlled from their eTempo/Plus steam control.
The MS Light needs a separate light switch on the exterior of the shower.

Other white light options are available as well
Steam Shower Lighting (http://www.steamsaunabath.com/residential-steam/lighting/)

Lighting is an important part of a steam bathing environment and should always be considered when constructing a steam shower. Besides the obvious safety consideration, lighting allows for maximum control of steam shower visual ambiance. When on, light will reflect on the steam or airborne vapor particles creating a visually unique and pleasing rolling mist.
