Title: Where should I locate the floor drain in my steam room?
Post by: Jordan on February 17, 2009, 10:43:48 AM
I have a question in the best location for a steam room drain. My projected steam room floor area is 6x6. I have heard everything from the center of the floor, to closest to the steam outlet, to, as far away from the outlet as possible. With just as many reasons why. I personally would believe on the center of the room, however, with this being such a new concept to me, I do not want to create a mistake. Any help would be great! Thank you in advance for any information as I know it will be useful.

Floor drains are typically centered in a shower and the floor generally has a slight pitch toward the drain.  Having steam in your shower environment does not affect the drain location.  You can read more about steam shower flooring here...
