I just completed our new steam shower about 6 months ago and I'm starting to notice areas where the caulking along the corners is already deteriorating.  After tile and grouting we used the basic home depot sanded caulk which is a siliconized acrylic made by Custom Building Products.  I'm thinking we should've used 100% silicone, does anyone have advice on what type of caulking can stand up to the heat and constant moisture in a steam shower?

Hello bg_bruddah and welcome to our forum.   We look for silicone or caulk that can withstand temperatures over 350 degrees F.

100% RTV Silicone Rubber Sealant creates a flexible, durable weather resistant seal between similar and dissimilar materials; provides excellent adhesion to tile, glass, porcelain, and ceramic tile.

It will withstand temperature extremes from -60F. to +450F. and is waterproof for indoor/outdoor use. Dries to the touch in one hour, cures and bonds in 24 hours.

I agree, Jenifer.  100% RTV silicone won't let you down.  It cleans up easy too!
