Title: How much white light does the MS Chroma give off?
Post by: ShellCh4ri on November 25, 2011, 11:06:52 AM
We are building a steam shower and are considering the MS chroma light.  In speaking with steam shower specialists, they recommend having a "Task" light installed as well as the mood light.  The MS Chroma light has both mood and white light.....would we need anything else?

Chroma lights are not intended to be used as white light.  Although it may say white light, since it is LED it is not the same as a task light with an incandescent bulb.
The MS Chroma light is 14.4 watts.  As a general rule of thumb, you would want enough light to be able to read a book.  Incandescent white likes are 60watts up to 100watts.
The Mr Steam Chromasteam light manual states:
IMPORTANT NOTE: Chromasteamô
System is for mood lighting only and not
a substitute for general illumination.

Look to the MS Light to use along with your chroma light.
