Title: Is a steam shower dual control worth it?
Post by: Sarah on March 23, 2009, 09:06:18 AM
Okay, so now I am ready to make my decision on what steam system I want... Why do some manufacturers offer a dual control system and others don't?  Is their a benefit of have a dual control or is it just a waste of funds?

A dual control system is a WONDERFUL feature!  This is one of those convenience features that is worth triple it's weight in gold.  That is, of course, unless you are a minimalist.

The recommended control location for a steam shower is near the bather, roughly 4 feet (head height) off the floor.  This is generally away from the shower door and in the furthest corner of the shower enclosure.  The dual control allows you to initiate the steam generator from outside the enclosure.  If you preheat your steam shower, especially if you steam frequently, this is a huge convenience for a minor expense.
