My contractors are in charge, however occasionally I have questions that are technically answered, and I am totally lost! So, here goes, should I have a membrane in my steam room and what exactly is a membrane? My main concern is that I do not want water escaping overtime causing me to spend more money. This project is already overbudget!

This is sound advice! Membrane, or vapor-barrier, is a MUST when installing your steam shower. This is intended to prevent moisture damage and the related expenses.
