Title: Two steam showers, one generator
Post by: grahamk on January 01, 2010, 11:42:34 AM

We are installing a steam shower in a guest bathroom and we eventually plan to install one in the master bath also.

The steam generator is a large expense. I do not forsee both steam showerss being used at the same time.

Assuming they are close enough to each other (they are) can a single generator be plumbed to produce the steam in 2 separate steam showers?

Yes!  A properly sized generator can service two steam rooms.  It is important to select equipment appropriate for dual environment service and there are several installation factors to consider which include steam line runs from generator into the steam shower enclosures, control cable connections from steam generator to control locations, whether the steam generator requires a gravity drain connection, how accessible are water and electric service lines, whether the steam generator makes noises during operation, and local building codes.  Speak with a Steam Bath Specialist ( to assist you in selecting the right equipment for your installation.
