Title: What does general maintance mean on a steam generator?
Post by: Payton on September 18, 2009, 07:18:17 AM
Everyone I have talked to says to maintain your generator but no one seems to be able to explain what that means.   What are the necessary steps needed and how often?  What is the life span on a steam unit and control?

Maintaining your steam generator is similar to maintaining your hot water heater - you want to flush the tank.  The frequency needed varies depending on your water quality.  Check out this post on flushing your steam generator (http://steamsaunabath.com/forum/index.php/topic,34.msg68.html#msg68).

As for the life span...  check out this post on Generator Lifespan (http://steamsaunabath.com/forum/index.php/topic,88.msg163.html#msg163)
