Title: What is the correct temperature for a health club steam room?
Post by: Peanut on November 27, 2009, 07:47:04 AM
What is the correct temperature for a health club steam room?  We seem to have the unit constantly shutting down due to excess water being thrown on the sensor.  Is there something that can be put on the sensor so the members don't keep tripping the system down?

Putting water on the sensor is abuse & dangerous as it can cause the room to get too hot and someone can get hurt as well as causing the equipment to break down.
Without tampering with the temperature sensor, the temperature setting is determined by the club but average is about 110 degrees F.

Yes, there is a cover that can help make it difficult for the sensor abuse.

iIsn't there a way to have an alarm put on the system so the patrons will stop messing with the system?  I am one of those bathers that just hates it when i want to steam and the young people are constantly throwing water to make the room so unbearable and hot.  Our club is constantly going down because the members are tampering with the sensor.

Good Question.
Depending on what manufacturer's steam equipment the club has an alarm system may be available which would trigger when the room gets to hot.
