Title: Can i use regular can lights in my steam room
Post by: LuAnn on August 26, 2009, 09:35:16 AM
My contractor is using regular "can lights" with a trim piece/lens, gasketed and rated for wet locations. My concern with this choice is that the lens has room to wiggle and I feel moisture may penetrate the above floor joists. Should I worry about this?

This is a question best answered by the manufacturer of the lights selected.

Steam room lighting is not a market that many light manufacturers typically serve.  The trick is to find lighting that has been tested for these environments, usually through a steam equipment company.
