Title: Steam Generator Backflow Preventer
Post by: StyxDogs on September 07, 2011, 01:55:16 PM
My plumber says my steam generator in my home will need a backflow preventor.  What is this and do I need it?

Backflow preventors allow water to enter the steam generator but do not allow the steam generator water to find it's way back into to source of our water supply (known as potable water).  This isn't that critical with steam generators but local codes may still require it.
The plumber should know local code for your area as to whether this is needed.
