Title: We would like to install a drain inside the sauna
Post by: Amy on September 30, 2009, 05:25:05 PM
I am building a traditional sauna in my home.  We would like to install a drain inside the sauna so when we are bathing, we can toss cold buckets of water over ourselves.  Is this something that is recommended?  Is there anything we should know first?

This is definitely recommended for an authentic Sauna experience.  Adding water to this environment has an amazing effect on the environment and you.  The steam created by adding water to the rocks raises the room temperature and adds a bit of humidity to the room, increasing the "sweat factor".  Pouring water on yourself can be quite invigorating!
