Title: How can I clean stains on my sauna wood?
Post by: Marc on February 16, 2009, 06:48:25 PM
My sauna is about 3 years old.  The wood looks good except in some areas due to sweat stains.  What could I use to clean the wood.  I'm scared to experiment, since the wood is not protected with a polyurethane like the other wood in my house.

Here is a great product designed for cleaning your sauna environment...

To prevent stains on the walls of your sauna, you can use a backrest.  http://steamsaunabath.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?manufacturers_id=&keywords=backrest (http://steamsaunabath.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?manufacturers_id=&keywords=backrest)  These can be portable or wall-mounted.  Backrests can easily be replaced without much effort when this wood stains and keep your sauna walls looking gorgeous.

Additionally, you can also purchase individual boards http://steamsaunabath.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?manufacturers_id=&keywords=cw (http://steamsaunabath.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?manufacturers_id=&keywords=cw)
to replace only the ones that are stained.  Once replaced, add a backrest and you are all set.
