Title: Steam shower light, how to change bulb
Post by: patchpal on June 20, 2012, 04:12:39 PM
Question from a customer, called me about his light. I advised unscrew and take down lens but that is not working for him. Before I travel 60 miles to see for myself do you have any suggestions?

Hi,
I have a shower light in my shower, as per the picture from your website:
http://www.steamsaunabath.com/catalog/steam-tight-round-shower-light-p-3744.html

The light bulb just burnt out, and I'm trying to figure out how to remove the the glass to replace
the bulb.  The glass is fitted quite tightly against the housing. Do you have any manual or kind
advice on the proper procedure to remove this housing?

Thanks in advance.

GD, if your light goes together the same way as the the steam shower light then you simply remove the screws holding the lens to the fixture. Since the light may have been up there for a while the heat and moisture may have cooked the rubber gasket a bit so it could be difficult to remove. Pry gently or maybe use a butter knife or a putty knife to work around the fixture like a stubborn jar lid. It will come off.

Yup, a little prying with the putty knife did the trick.

Thank you very much, Patchpal.
