Title: My Steamist shuts off at 90 degrees
Post by: Earl on January 04, 2012, 11:32:09 AM
Hello - My name is Peter, and I live in Washington DC. My Steammist unit (model SM 79, 9KW, 15 amp, 5 VDC) has been working flawlessly since it was installed in March 2002. This fall the first two times I have used the unit the steam has worked great until the temperature gets to about 85 to 90 degrees. Then, the unit turns off, tripping the breaker switch dedicated for the steam unit in the basement. Do you have any idea what the issue might be before I get an electrician involved?

many thanks!

This is a bit of a tricky question. It should be one of 3 things, either the heating elements inside are shorted, the breaker is bad or there is a loose electrical connection between the breaker and the steam unit.
We do have a service company in the area if the customer needs assistance but if they will have their electrician come out, they will need to check the Amperage at the steam unit while it's running.
Please call the experts at SteamSaunaBath.com  and talk to a project coordinator to determine exactly what the problem is.
