I have a DTC-225 control inside my steam shower that has become water damaged and no longer works. I understand I can replace this with the SMC-150 control but what a let down. I know the DTC has been discontinued but why would they not offer a more glamorous replacement? this control is ugly compared to what i have. Is there any alternate available?

This has been an issue ever since Steamist discontinued the DSC and DSP control packages.
What you have is the inside portion of the DSP package. This package consists of the DTC-225 inside control which controls the temperature of the steam room. The generator will not function without this control. The other half of this package is the DTC-200 control which goes on the outside of the steam room and controls the time. You could run your steam on this control alone but it is not recommended.
As a result of the furor over the discontinuance of these controls Steamist has come up with a new replacement control.
The inside control is the 225T-XX and the outside control is the 200T-XX. The new controls are quite striking and are available in all finishes. The control does not include the steam head.
