Infrared sauna operate a lower temperatures than a traditional sauna heater while providing the same benefits.
The ideal temperature for an infrared sauna is between 110F to 130F. Remember, temperature is not important; the fact that you are receiving far infrared heat is.
Bathers who have difficulty with the 165 to 185 range in a traditional sauna typically benefit from the lower temperatures in the Infrared saunas.

There is no evidence at this time that infrared is any less safe than a traditional sauna or steam.
But precautions should always be taken with any sauna or steam.
If you have a medical condition, check with your physician.  Be careful of overheating and dehydration.  Do not use any sauna or steam while drinking alcohol, etc.
