Title: SM3TC, SERIAL #3-12031
Post by: Bu5yGuanto on December 02, 2011, 08:32:48 AM
Hi...we have a SM3TC unit and have moved homes and brought the steam unit with us, however, we left the control behind and need to purchase a replacement control.  Will the SMC-150 control work with our existing unit?

What control did you have before?
Was it a mechanical timer or a control that used what looks like a phone line wire?

It was kind of shaped like a stop sign with a small dial on the bottom underside.  We could adjust temperature.

Sounds like a TC120 control.  As long as the control cable is 6-wire then yes, the new SMC controls will work.  I say 6-wire because at one time they had 4-wire control cables.
The 4-wire would be smaller like a telephone cable and the 6-wire would be slightly larger like a computer network cable.
We may have the older control in stock.  It wouldn't hurt to check with a Project Coordinator at 800-707-2862
