Title: Steam generator sizing- I want it hot!
Post by: Hank on July 20, 2011, 12:28:48 PM
I have a customer with a steam room 48x64x96 high, 3 walls stone tile, I glass, 1 outside. He is looking at the thermasol uinit. I believe the SSA 240 is correct. But here is the kicker. He wants the room to go from 70 degree to 104 degrees in 10 minutes. Would going up a size be too much?

The 240 is the model that they need. If they go to the next model which would be the 395, the room would get to hot to quick thus not allowing the humidity to build up in the shower like it should. Then you will get the complaint "the room is hot but i don't see any steam". A 30 degree change in ten minutes is quite drastic.
Advise your customer to turn on the steam and after 5 or 10 minutes go in and relax as the temperature goes up. It's the experience not how fast you get there that counts.
