Title: steam head noise
Post by: Brad on December 29, 2009, 02:09:09 PM
I have a Steamist SM8.5 steam generator. I just activated it. The system works great.
It makes a fairly substantial noise however. Could the steam head be creating that noise?? How much noise should I expect to have?? Are there steam heads that might reduce the noise.
The steam head I currently have is one provided by Steamist; the 3/4 inch hexagon shaped one with the port on one face.
Are there Stainless Steel or Nickel fittings that I could use for the drain and overflow lines; 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch. I hate to purchase other steam heads when I simply need elbows in that finish........currently have galvanized elbows installed.

To be sure I understand.
Are you saying that your Steamist unit has a drain port and you have it plumbed to drain into the shower?

Can you be anymore specific about the noise?
Does the noise occur when steam is not coming out the head or only when steam comes out the head?
