I have a Steamist steam shower at my house. It was working fine and we had it for more than 5 years. It is a SM 46. I have not been happy with this unit since I purchased it with the house. It has never gotten hot enough for me. I would like to get a stronger unit. Is it easy to just change the generator to a stronger one without having to redoing the plumbing, etc.? Can I use the same controls?

We should calculate the size of your shower to determine if you are in the correct model.  The SM-46 has 2 settings, 4.5KW and 6KW.  I would check to see which setting you are on.  However, I would CAUTION to not change the switch until your electrical wire and breaker size are confirmed.

Contact with with your shower dimensions, wall materials, and if possible, breaker size and wire size.  We'd be happy to review your environment and equipment to assure you are in the appropriate equipment.
