Title: Thermasol generator won't steam
Post by: Tyler on December 02, 2010, 05:13:58 PM

We just moved into a home that has a thermasol steam shower model 140 serial number 140-9367 that has just water running through the steam head and the control light just blinking( 60). What do we need to do to get the unit up and running. The unit was off for a while in the home (we're not sure how long) and when I turned the water supply line on all the unit did was run water through the head and the light blink on the control unit.
Thanks

Sounds like their could be two concerns with this Thermasol steam shower model 140 steam bath generator.

Water should not be pouring out the steam outlet head unless the steam bath generator has a manual flush valve and it's open for preventative maintenance draining.  This would allow water to enter the steam generator and pass through the steam line into the shower.  Otherwise, it would most likely be a water feeder issue.  This is the water metering component of the generator.  If the feeder is faulty, it should be replaced.

Once the water issue is remedied it would be prudent to address the diagnostic code flashing "60" on the steam bath generator control. This code identifies that the level switch inside the steam generator most likely needs to be replaced.  This device is a safety switch that confirms the water level inside the steam bath generator tank and protects the heating element.

These repairs are tricky and not recommended by a person that is not familiar with Thermasol brand steam bath generators.
