I'm looking at a steam shower enclosure that includes a computerized massage steam shower-whirlpool combo with 12 acupuncture body massage jets, 12 whirlpool jets, 10 air bubble jets, underwater lighting, digital control panel w/ remote control, aromatherapy, rain forest shower head, 2 handheld shower heads. radio, and padded seating for two persons.

I've read mixed reviews about these types of enclosures.

Wondering if anyone out there can share their experience and/or giving any feedback on these before I invest in the $4,400 price tag.

I am going to direct you to a letter we received from a customer regarding exactly the type of room you are considering, but first let's take a look at what you are being offered.

To purchase a tub shower combination surround from Menard's or Home Depot, bottom rung, 1 year warranty is going to cost you around $1500.00.
whirlpool tub option; minimum. $1000.00
Steam proof shower door $1000.00
Steam generator, min. $1000.00
Digital control and remote $1200.00
We're up to $5700.00 and haven't Even touched the massage, whirlpool and bubble jets; lighting, shower heads and a radio.
I can tell you know what you want. We want to help you. Do not throw your money away on imported junk that is hard to install and harder  to fix that will only last a short time with no recourse for problems you encounter. It's going to cost you 2 or 3 times what you would have paid to do it right but you will have the quality your money deserves.
Please call one of our Project Coordinators at 1 800 707 2862. They will work with you and your budget.

They look too good to be true . .And apparently according to their former and our current customers- they are!
Below is an email we received from a real customer who spent $2,500 on an item that he eventually threw away!

I am writing this letter for the purpose of preventing others from incurring the loss that I have experienced myself.  There are a number of very attractive steam showers on EBay.  They are competitively priced and have every bell and whistle on them.  I thought WOW!   I purchased a Koral steam shower.  The unit came after 8 weeks of waiting.  No body in the company that sold it to me had any legitimate experience.  They baffled me with lies.  It was not ULA or CSA approved.  No electrician or plumber would touch it with a 10 foot pole.  It was not eligible to pass building inspection.  I tried everything under the sun to prevent it from leaking but the enclosure was not well made and the parts just didn't line up properly to get a proper seal. The major leak was in the base wall joint.  After 15 hours, 5 attempts, and 5 tubes of silicone I decided that this would never seal properly.  As a profession I assemble engines valued over $800,000.  I believe that I can get seals to place properly and apply silicone.  The problem with this was not my skill by any means. The next problem was that the steam generator leaked steam and water from its housing and connections.  The connections were made of nylon fittings. Not to be suitable for high temperature steam.  The whole unit looked very intriguing, but was absolute cheap JUNK.  I quickly disassembled it and discarded of it.  If I had left this unit installed in my bathroom it would have destroyed my new home.  The Insurance Company would have denied my claim as it was not CSA approved.  This turned out to be a lesson for me. You get what you pay for.  This lesson only cost me $2,500. Not $130,000 as it would have if I ignored the truth of that I was fooled by another dishonest company on EBay and allowed this to destroy my home.  Today the company isn't to be found, they took everybody money and ran away.  Please use my experience to better you in your decision making regarding steam showers or any other possibly deceiving products.  These companies need to be put out of the market place.  All I can do now is warn others.  I hope that the company that receives this makes this letter accessable to the viewers.  If a premium steam shower is not in your budget, please do not buy any.  Settle for just a regular shower stall.

Good Luck,

 e of room you

The steam shower module jam-packed with water, steam, lighting, tub and the works is a great concept, but these enclosures and their bathing systems lack the quality and craftsmenship befitting today's modern bath.

Should they pass inspection and start-up without incident, we find they will survive several years.  However, when the electronics fail, customers report their nightmares involved in troubleshooting and repairing them.  There just isn't a distribution and service network sufficeint to support the low quantity, ever-changing enclosures being imported each year.  These things change monthly.  Distributors are attracted to the easy-to-sell all-in-one enclosures, bathers are enamoured by the price and promise, and industry is stuck supporting the unorthodox mechanical and electronic systems.  Technicians run from these systems.

Earl demonstrated the true costs in constructing such an environment out of quality components.  The numbers do not lie.

When Accurate Industries, the leader in steam and sauna product distribution endorses these steam shower modules or enclosures, it will be advisable to buy one.  Until then, build a room to suit your needs and space, and install quality products that will last.
