I have been reading significantly about the benefits of a salt grotto room.  Can I take my exisitng sauna and incorporate salt blocks?  Would that provide the same type of environment or similar.  What are your thoughts on this type of environment?

Just having a Himalayan salt block in your existing sauna will provide the same benefits as a salt grotto.
Salt and Brine are therapeutic treatments introduced to the body through soaking bath, ingestion, inhalation, salt lamps, and topical applications frequently for:

Most people are familiar with Dead Sea Salts and their use in bath salts and scrubs.  Less familiar are Salt Caves which are quite common in Eastern Europe, where people with chronic conditions often spend up to 3 hours a day in “salt grottos”, and have been approved for medical use in Russia for nearly 15 years.  Salt Rooms of some fashion are also a common feature at cutting-edge respiratory treatment centers and Brine Inhalation is rapidly becoming a popular addition to spas/spa treatments.  Look online for a spa near you which features one of these environments.  As with any health regimen, you should always check with your doctor to be sure you are healthy enough for this activity.

I can confirm this, it really helps if you have asthma or something similar Smiley. But temperature should be pretty mild or you don't last long enough. Some physiotherapists also have this nice room, so you can ask them too.
