Ive been doing some research on infrared sauna and found overwhelming evidence of its benefits. Of course I have also seen some warnings which seem serious. Has anyone actually heard of complications due to infrared? It's seems like the benefits far outweigh the negative, but I'd like to get as much info as I can. Thanks.

There is no evidence at this time that infrared is any less safe than a traditional sauna or steam.

But precautions should always be taken with any sauna or steam.
If you have a medical condition, check with your physician.  Be careful of overheating and dehydration.  Do not use any sauna or steam while drinking alcohol, etc.

An infrared sauna generally operates between 115 and 135 Fahrenheit while a traditional sauna operates between 180 to 200 Fahrenheit.

Some thoughts on infrared in finland - sweden ship:

- very cold compared to normal sauna (maybe 50C in infrared VS. 80-120C in normal wood-heated one, or 60-100C in electric sauna).
- it feels like your innards get heated directly, it didn't feel good. Just think how it feels when your eyeballs get warm from the inside.
- you're dry and that adds to awful feeling. Of course if you prefer dry sauna it might be your thing.

I don't think its bad for your health, but im always thinking "oh my god im going to get microwaved!" in infrared, without any reason Sad.Try it and decide then  Smiley!
