I recently moved into a new home and for the past couple of months steam shower has really sparked my interest. I would like to design my “steam shower room” in my finished basement .However, with many choices available, I'm confused and am hoping this community of steam shower enthusiasts can help me.
Steam shower size: 6’-0”Wx7’-6”Lx8’-0”H

First off, here are my goals and questions with my steam shower project. Let me know if I'm expecting too much. Based on these goals, I'm looking for advice on what to buy, I do not want to spend a ton of money only to find out that stuff is not working well for me.

-Steam unit
Can someone offer their insight as to which brands and units (Mr. Steam, Thermasol….) will be the good and more cost-effective solution for my project.

-Lights control
I want install a nice, colorful lights for my steam shower. I would like to control (turn on/off/dim) the lights. What do I need for this?

- Speakers
I would like to install speakers system. Are there speakers available in the market which I can use to transmit sound from my radio, CD player or MP3 player ?

-Temp. Control:
I want to control Steam Shower temp. Both way - via the remote control and manually from outside of steam shower. What would I need to buy?

Any help/guidance is appreciated.

Mr.BeanSteam, First welcome to the Forum!

With the variety of goals you are trying to accomplish, I would have to ask if you have a budget?  The reason I ask this question is because the new ThermaSol series can do all what you need and more.

There new series comes in three different 'models' the classic, the AF and the PRO, all of these units do what they are supposed to do, make steam but the Classic the is a basic series where the PRO is like a Bentley.

In addition to rolling out a new line of generators they have also introduced some new controls and accessories which would probably interest you with your needs as they offer mood lighting with built in speaker system with aux input and time/temp control.

Another question, would you like to have dual control operation or a single wireless control which operate in/outside the room?  If a single is fine then I may suggest looking at the Serenity Light and Music System, which is available in multiple finishes and decor styles, and includes a wireless remote.

But I am getting ahead of myself first I would suggest visiting the SteamSaunaBath Sizing Tool here http://www.steamsaunabath.com//catalog/generator_sizing.php.  Just pop in the numbers that you provided and wall material and you'll find your generator size.

There are also other manufacturers which would meet your needs, so I would recommend looking at Mr Steam as well.

I don’t have any specified budget, I would like to buy a good stuff and fully enjoy steam shower experience....

What’s the difference between Thermasol “Classic” and “Pro” series? I don’t have idea how to compare two steam generators....what are pros and cons.
Can I get a “better steam experience” using Pro series… ?

my pick:
Steamshower AF Series™ 8KW Steam Bath Generator, ThermaSol

what do you think Bob ? It's a good choice ....

Mr.BeanSteam,

Well the the three generators in the ThermaSol line will all give a great steam experience and since it seems $$ is not a problem, I would recommend your choice of the 8KW AF series, also get the Free Aroma Oil and The Serenity Light and Music System as it has many of the features you were looking for in your previous post.

In regards to comparison all three models are generally the same but the major differences between the AF and PRO series are as follows:

AF Series
2 Year In Home Warranty
No Drain Pan
No Pre-plumbed PRV (Pressure Relief Valve)

PRO Series
3 Year in Home Warranty
Drain Pan Included
Pre-Plumbed PRV Included

You can get a side-by-side comparison by checking the boxes on the category page and them hit the compare button.

Hope this helps.
