Title: SM-36 Serial No:2492 wont start up and no display on controller
Post by: kingofthehill on March 19, 2014, 05:18:19 AM
I have an old SM36. This is refusing to start up
The fuse is good, and red power LED on.
When I press the test button, the top green LED comes on, I have also replaced the control TC135
Any suggestions? My suspicion is a bad board.

It does sound similar to the situation with my Kohler unit. The transformer on the circuit board is most likely the culprit. Turn off the power and access the circuit board. See if there is a part number on the transformer. If you're handy with soldering, it may be a relatively easy fix.
