Title: Steamhead whistling
Post by: kiley2008 on July 17, 2013, 06:45:12 PM
Hello!

We just recently installed an Amerec AK14 and our client is complaining of a very loud whistling noise.

Do you know what this would be caused from or how to remedy it?

Thanks,
K.K.

K.K.

Steam shower steam outlet heads generally do not whistle.

Should a steam outlet head whistle, it would be associated with the manner in which it is installed, the power of the steam bath generator, it's orientation within the steam shower environment or an obstruction within the steam line.

Should you answer the below questions, I may be able to offer more assistance.
1.  How old is the steam bath generator?
2.  Is this a new occurrence?
3.  Is the steam outlet head of the same make as the steam bath generator?
4.  Has the steam outlet head been replaced recently?

Thanks!

1.  The steam bath generator was installed about 3 months ago.

2.  It has been whistling since install.  We attempted to place a cloth over the steam head to muffle the noise...and it was to no avail.

3.  Yes, the steam head is the Comfort Flo.

4.  We have not replaced the steam head.  This is a brand new install.

Thanks for all your help!

Good information K.K.

A whistling sound from the steam outlet head is uncommon.  Can you provide a video with sound?

Also, what model steam bath generator do you have installed?
